State Treasurer Eric Schmitt’s chief of staff downloaded Confide, a smartphone application that automatically deletes text messages once they are read, according to a record obtained by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Andrew Dziedzic, who worked as Schmitt’s policy coordinator before becoming chief of staff last fall, likely used the application sometime in 2017, according to Mark Pedroli, a St. Louis County attorney who is investigating former Gov. Eric Greitens’ use of the app.
