2021 Annual Awards

Our annual awards event was held virtually on November 2, 2021 and was hosted by president Ted Streuli and executive director Andy Moore. Here are the winners:

  • Marian Opala First Amendment Award: Micheal Salem

  • Ben Blackstock Award: Robby Korth

  • Bickham-Hale Service Award: Andy Moore

  • Sunshine Award: Brittany Coley-Roberts

  • Black Hole Award: University of Oklahoma & Oklahoma State Dept. of Health

This year we tried something a little different with our “keynote address” by having The Oklahoman’s executive editor, Ray Rivera, moderate an open and honest discussion about Oklahoma’s transparency laws with panelists Nolan Clay, Dana Hertneky, and Mark Thomas.
