IRE Data Reporting Mini-Boot Camp
Kickstart your data skills with a two-day workshop that combines hands-on training with lectures and discussions to get you comfortable gathering, cleaning and using data to find stories. It also include session on investigative storytelling.
This training will introduce you to spreadsheets using proven techniques from IRE’s long-running data boot camps. Trainers will walk you through sorting, filtering, using formulas and aggregating to interview data.
Reporters, editors, producers, students and educators are welcome. No previous data experience is necessary. You'll come away with a solid base for using data analysis in your own newsroom or classroom.

The boot camp is being done in conjunction with IRE. Other sponsors include the Ethics and Excellence in Journalism Foundation and the University of Central Oklahoma Department of Mass Communication
Time and date: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct 12-13
Place: University of Central Oklahoma’s Mass Communication building on campus.
Cost: $75 for professionals and $25 for students. Cost includes lunch on Saturday. Registration is limited to the first 70 who register.
